I’ve read that Puerto Ricans get deported to Mexico quite regularly. It beggars belief.

Really? My boss’ mother was profiled in AZ, during the period where that was a thing, and she’s Puerto Rican.
We were talking about how it makes no sense to support anti-Mexican rules, and regs when we look Mexican by US standards, and she told that story. I was blown away.
I hadn’t considered that they were trying to deport her, but of course they were. That’s exactly what they were up to.
I does beggar belief that they are ever successful. It sucks that if you’re Puerto Rican, or really any Latino, you have to be more certain to carry ID than other people.
